Privacy and safety

Your data, your body, your call.

What stays on your phone, what reaches your account only with your yes, who can use what, and how to delete everything. The full details are in the privacy policy and the terms of use.

The short version

Video never leaves your phone.

A camera app at work? Before anything else, you'd want to know where the video goes. Here's the short version.

  • The camera counts your reps on your phone. No photo or video is recorded, saved or sent anywhere.
  • Your plan, workouts, history, steps, water and settings are kept on your phone.
  • You can play without an account. If you sign in with Apple or Google, the server keeps your name, your email address, the XP you earn each day for leagues and crews, and a copy of your progress and settings, so a new phone or your other phones get it back.
  • No ads, no analytics, no tracking. Nothing is sold.

Health and faith stay on your phone, unless you say so

Some things are nobody's business but yours: how your knees feel this morning, or that you're fasting this month.

Two kinds of data never reach your account until you say yes to each, and you can take that yes back. The camera and your location never leave your phone at all.

Your health answers and steps

Your soreness and pain answers, the places you want to go easy on, any fluid limit and your step counts are health information. They go into your account only if you say yes to Sync health answers, when the app asks or later in Settings. Turn it off and they're removed from your account and stay on your phone.

Both buttons on the ask are the same size. After a No, we ask at most once every two weeks.

Your Ramadan settings

Ramadan mode shows your religion, so its settings, your city, how prayer times are worked out, quiet at prayer times, your mosque's times and days you're not fasting, go into your account only if you turn on Keep a copy in my account and say yes. Turn it off and they're removed from your account at the next sync.

Fasting never shows on your lock screen, in notifications or in anything you share.

The camera

During a set, the app reads your body's position from the camera with pose detection that runs on the phone. Each frame is read in memory and dropped. Nothing is recorded, saved or uploaded.

Your location

Only if you tap "Use my location" while picking a city for Ramadan mode or prayer times, the app asks for your approximate location, finds the nearest town and saves it on the phone. Your location itself is not sent anywhere.

Sync your health answers? What syncing does, with Yes, I agree and No, keep them on this phone as equal outlined buttons.
Sync health answers? Two equal buttons, and No keeps them on your phone.
Keep a copy in your account? What would be saved and what never is, with Yes, keep a copy and No, keep it on this phone as equal buttons.
Keep a copy? What would be saved, and what never is.
Before we count: at my desk or room to move, a Quiet mode switch for no jumping, and how the camera counts your reps on the phone.
Before the first set. How the camera counts, on your phone.
What others see: how you show on a board, your name, what's always visible while you play with others, and switches for small wins, steps, trail patches and your bib.
What others see. Every choice on one page.

You choose what others see

You'd like to join the office club, but you'd rather your manager didn't see your every day.

Each group sees only what it needs to play with you, and you choose the rest. Here's who sees what.

Your league

Your name in the form you chose, your XP and your active days. Your steps and small wins only if you show them. You're placed in a league only after "Yes, put me in a league".

Your crew

The same, plus your boss damage, high-fives and the cards you send them. Your bib, with its patches, only if you turn it on.

Each club

Sees you by name, by rank only, or not at all, as you choose for that club.

Your friends

Your name, and on the friends board how many days this week you reached your own target and your share of it. Never the target itself.

Reports and blocks

Reports are seen only by us. Nobody is told who reported them or who blocked them. Someone you block shows to you as "Blocked player".

Your inbox

Your inbox and notifications go only to your phones.

Made for adults who sit for work

18+

Your sixteen-year-old sees you playing and wants to join your crew.

Sitbuster isn't directed at children, and nobody under 13 should use it or create an account.

Weight goals, leagues, crews, clubs, Country & world, invites and sharing are only for adults 18 and over. The birth year you give decides this on all your phones. Under 18, your trail, small wins and streak are all yours.

Only your birth year is asked, never your birthday. If you believe a child has created an account, email contact@snnsystems.com and it will be deleted.

League for someone under 18: Just you, for now. No rankings: your trail and streak only. Leagues open at 18.
League, under 18. "Just you, for now." No rankings.
Crew for someone under 18: Crews open at 18. Leagues, crews and sharing are for people 18 and over. Your trail, small wins and streak are all yours.
Crew, under 18. "Crews open at 18."

A game, not medical advice

Your back twinged yesterday, and you're not sure whether today's set is a good idea.

Sitbuster is a game that gets you moving. It isn't medical advice, so it asks before you start, backs off when you tell it something hurts, and says when to see a doctor. Stop if something hurts.

A health check before the first set

It asks about warning signs, known conditions and how active you are, following exercise guidelines. When you have a warning sign, it suggests checking with a doctor first, and it adds follow-ups when an answer needs one, such as blood pressure, low blood sugar or pregnancy.

Exercise guidelines advise a doctor's check before you start, when you have a warning sign.

Pain pauses moves

Tell the morning check-in, and Sitbuster backs off: sore muscles rest, and pain pauses those moves until you say it's gone. If pain doesn't pass, stop and see a doctor or physiotherapist.

Pain isn't soreness. Sharp pain, in a joint, or swelling: stop the moves that hurt, and see a doctor if it's very painful, swollen, or not getting better.

Care where it matters

Moves carry their own safety notes, small wins carry their cautions, and the walk after a meal always shows a caution for people on insulin or sulfonylureas. Weight goals are for adults only, and Sitbuster never counts calories.

Fair play

No offensive names and no abuse. You can report or block anyone in the app. Crews and clubs have no free-text chat, and nudges between players are a few fixed messages anyone can turn off.

Do you get any of these? Tiles for chest, neck, jaw or arm pain, fainting or dizziness, short of breath, racing heartbeat, a heart murmur and unusual tiredness.
Warning signs. Asked before your first set.
Let's check with a doctor first: guidelines advise a doctor's check before you start when you have a sign like this, with what to tell your doctor and I've been cleared.
A doctor first, when it matters. With what to tell your doctor.
Pain isn't soreness: what happens now, when to see a doctor and when to get checked right away, then Where is it? Knees, back, wrists or shoulders.
Pain pauses moves. And says when to get checked.
Anything to go easy on? Knees, back, wrists and shoulders, each with what changes, and Nothing to go easy on.
Go easy on. Comfort versions of the moves that load it.

Download it, or delete it

One day you might want a copy of everything, or to leave for good. Both should be easy.

Download my data: in the app, under Settings, ask for a copy of what the server keeps about you: a ZIP of JSON and CSV files. We tell you when it's ready.

Delete your account in the app: go to You, then Settings, then Delete account. The account and everything the server keeps for it are deleted at once, and Sign in with Apple is cancelled.

Without the app: on the account deletion page, sign in with the Apple ID or Google account you use in Sitbuster, then choose Delete my account. We email the account's address straight away, from no-reply@sitbuster.com. Seven days later that account is deleted, unless it's kept first on the same page or with Keep it in the app.

On your phone: delete the app.

Deleting the app or your account doesn't cancel a subscription. Cancel it in your App Store or Google Play subscription settings.

Download my data: a copy of everything your account holds, in files you can open, free, always, with what's in it.
Download my data. Free, always, in files you can open.
A card in Settings: your account will be deleted on 12 November, because someone asked on sitbuster.com, with Keep my account and Delete now.
After a request on the website. Keep your account, or delete it now.
